Located near the East entrance to the park, the Yellow Dot was intended initially to draw attention to the dramatic changes ahead on the Golden Mile. Since its debut, however,the area has become a literal and figurative bright spot and a guest favorite for lounging, reading, homework and acoustic guitar serenades.
The Yellow Dot is not only a space of relaxation, but it has also evolved into a “book nook.” With supreme assistance from Alec Hawley and Green Apple Books, the space regularly houses reams of children’s books and reading stories aloud to children can be heard frequently.
The Yellow Dot is maintained and refreshed regularly by volunteer support, who apply new coats of yellow paint, new trees and plants, and planters.
